#PureLove at the LaLiT: Celebrating Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

At The LaLiT, we are deeply committed to building a workplace and guest experience that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusivity. We believe that everyone regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, caste, religion, or ability deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued in our spaces. Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Keshav Suri, we launched the #PureLove campaign, a pioneering initiative to ensure that every individual who walks through our doors whether a guest or a team member, feels truly welcome and accepted.

For years, The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group has actively worked to reshape societal norms by creating inclusive policies, sensitizing our workforce, and promoting representation. Through #PureLove, we have built a platform that uplifts and supports LGBTQIA+ individuals, women, people with disabilities, and acid attack warriors, offering them not just visibility, but also emotional and economic empowerment.

Some of our key efforts include:
  • Inclusive workplace policies for LGBTQIA+ persons, persons with disabilities, and other minority groups.
  • Sensitization and training for all team members to promote respectful and inclusive hospitality.
  • Hosting and supporting LGBTQIA+ events and collaborating with DEI-focused organizations.

Empowering Women

At the LaLiT, we proudly champion gender inclusion with 40% women at the Board level and 50% at the corporate level. We are committed to raising overall women workforce participation to 25%.

Through initiatives like She Leads, we empower women with leadership training, mentorship, and practical tools. We also celebrate womanhood at work through engaging events that inspire and uplift our women team members.

LGBTQ+ Community

At The LaLiT, inclusion goes beyond policy—it is action. In partnership with the Keshav Suri Foundation, we empower the LGBTQIA+ community through:

  • Skilling & Leadership Programs: From TRANSaction acting workshops to MS Office training, content creation, and the Queer Youth Leadership Course, we offer livelihood opportunities and mentorship for growth.
  • Community Events & Engagement: We have hosted job fairs, open mics, art exhibitions, film festivals, and pride marches across India, creating space for visibility and celebration.
  • Kitty Su – A Safe Space: Our iconic nightclub Kitty Su pioneered drag culture in India and continues to be a sanctuary with its weekly #PureLove nights.
  • Honouring Queer Role Models: We have proudly hosted change makers like Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, Dutee Chand, Sushant Divgikr, Peppermint, Onir, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, and many more, amplifying voices that inspire.


Empowering People with Disabilities

At The LaLiT, we focus on abilities, not disabilities. Through our Skill Enhancement Program, we provide meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. We are proud to have DJ Aamish, India’s first wheelchair-accessible DJ, as our resident DJ at Kitty Su.

 

We actively collaborate with partners to host inclusive events, including conversations with INCLOV, disability- focused conferences with BusinessWorld and Rising Flame, karaoke nights for neurodivergent individuals, and regular team members sensitization sessions—all fostering a discrimination-free, supportive environment.
